  • The Friends of Wilson Island will take commemorative photos of bike riders dipping their wheels in the Missouri River at Wilson Island State Recreation area on Saturday, July 19 from noon to 7 pm.

  • FEMA will have disaster information available at the City Park Campground Information Center. It doesn't matter which state you are from. If your county has been declared a disaster area for flooding, wildfires, or storms the information can help you.

  • WARNING - There are twice as many trains pass through Missouri Valley now then there was the last time RAGBRAI was here. Some are moving very fast and there are two main lines instead of one. DO NOT GO AROUND THE RAILROAD GATES IF THEY ARE DOWN! IT'S VERY DANGEROUS! The crossings will be monitored during RAGBRAI and the fine is around $200.00. The Missouri Valley RAGBRAI Committee wants to keep everyone safe.

  • Non-denominational service - July 19, 7 PM in the parking lot of the youth center located on the corner of 4th & Huron Street across the street from the Church of Christ. In case of rain the service will move inside the youth center.
  • Catholic Mass - St. Patricks Church July 19, 5 PM and 6:30 PM. The address is 215 N. 7th Street.

  • Safest route to dip your wheels in the Missouri River
    From Missouri Valley take Highway 183 south 4.2 miles to Loveland, then turn west on Desoto Avenue. Follow Desoto Avenue west 6.5 miles, then turn left at Campground Lane. Go 1/2 mile to the boat ramp located at Wilson Island State Recreation Area.
  • Missouri River Water Dip Tank
    We will be trucking Missouri River water in for a wheel dip tank site. The tank will be located at Campground C in the City Park near the Information Center.

  • Expo, Saturday, July 19, Noon – 9 PM
    Plan to attend the annual RAGBRAI Expo on the campus grounds of the Missouri Valley High School located at 605 Lincoln Highway. Attend product demonstrations to learn about current trends in the bicycle industry. Repairs and equipment will be available from the 10 Official Bicycle Shops. You can purchase your official RAGBRAI 2008 jersey and gear at the Expo.
  • Ride Right Safety Video Showing, Saturday, July 19, on the hour from 2 PM – 8 PM
    The video will be shown in the Missouri Valley High School commons area located at 605 Lincoln Highway. The Ride Right Ambassadors will offer guidance for a safe RAGBRAI. Sign up for the TREK 1.2 bicycle drawing by completing the Safety Pledge from your participant packet. Place it in the drawing box at the video showing.
  • Support Vehicle Driver Safety Meeting, Saturday, July 19, 4 PM only
    The meeting will be conducted at the Rialto Theatre (405 East Erie Street) in downtown Missouri Valley. Bring your support driver drawing card from the Participant Packet to be eligible for door prizes.
  • AA Meeting, Saturday, July 19, 8 PM
    There will be an AA Meeting in the American Legion Post located on Erie Street (South side) between 3rd and 4th Street. The door will open at 6 PM and the meeting is at 8 PM.

    We have extended the date for parking confirmation from July 1 to July 8Th. July 8 is the last day we can guarantee they will get their confirmation before the event. They can still pay at the gate of the long term parking based on space available.

  • Miss Iowa 2008 will travel to Missouri Valley on July 19 to officially welcome all the riders to the state. She will appear at the Welcome Ceremony in the Celebration Area.
  • The new Miss Iowa will be selected at the Miss Iowa program on June 14.
